The End of The Neverland
Adapting to the future and journey with Scout Comics and Source Point Press.
Having titles picked up by Scout and Source Point Press over the past few years was a major confidence boost. It got my stories in front of a wider audience and it made me feel like I was taking all the right steps to get a foothold as a comic creator.
The past year took a lot of the wind out of my sails. While the books all did decently well, both companies have struggled with sales across the board.
Nook and Supercats are two of my favorite creations. I love the ambitious direction Scout was taking with all-ages and children’s titles. I love the catalog of amazing books Source Point has put out over the years. I’m proud to have books with both of them, and I truly hope that both companies can rebound and rebuild. This industry needs publishers like these.
While their future is uncertain, mine is not. I will continue to create and publish my own books through Kickstarter and through my personal imprint, Village Comics. I have been working for over 2 years with Marcelo J. Biott and Robert Nugent to finish my most ambitious series yet, The Neverland.
The Neverland is a story I wrote in the middle of the pandemic and I think has a depth and beauty to it that is often lacking in many modern comics.
On the surface it’s a magical adventure of a boy escaping to Neverland and embarking on a fantastical journey to save the island from losing its magic.
At its heart, it’s a story about adapting to the world changing around you. It’s about embracing those changes and learning to find the magic again even when all hope is lost.
I think it’s a fitting book to release after everything that has happened over the past few years. The final issue launches alongside the complete hardcover graphic novel on April 9th.
Please, sign up to get notified on launch, and help me continue my journey and hold on to that magic. We will have day 1 discounts and a ton of free things for returning backers and early backers!
